In Ty Cobb's Shadow by Gregory Rubano

I have to admit that I love the game of baseball and I love history about Rhode Island and Sports so this book had all of the components to attract my interest. The cover design by Dawn M. Porter caught my attention to pick it up.
Author Rubano chose a style of writing blending source material from the baseball statistical archives and newspaper personal stories to keep me completely dialed into the story.
This was the Dead Ball era and know one even imagined a Hall of Fame in their future or putting the fate of the American League on their shoulders. Anyone who has played, enjoyed or coached the game of baseball should read this book to really absorb the foundation of our greatest game. The competition with Ty Cobb for individual statistics and newspaper coverage in it's day before Radio, TV and Internet was critical to the American League's success and for a baseball contract.
The reader is also reminded of where you came from and to always be humble to all. This book is a great beach read and suitable to all genders and age levels and if was available in French would be a Best Seller in Canada too. One of the original memebers of the Hall of Fame.If you are a serious baseball fan and not a wanna-be add this to your personal library or make a purchase for a grandchild or a retired friend or relative who has shown a interest in the past on Real Baseball, not what is on the field today with that darn American League Designated Hitter in 2016.

***** on this one. Wayne G. Barber, Host of the Authors Hour
