Authors Hour Line-Up for Tuesday 11-22-16

News, Book Signings, Publishing Questions and Author Interviews
Tentatively Scheduled for 9:05 am will be Paul Kenyon discussing 50 Years covering New England Sports: It's About the People, not just the games
E-Mail from now through the broadcast at waynewnri@yahoo.com Questions, Congratulations or Comments
There's no one in Rhode Island who has covered as many sporting events in as many places as Paul Kenyon.
Over his fifty-year career as a journalist (including thirty-seven years at The Providence Journal), he covered the Boston Red Sox, the New England Patriots, University of Rhode Island basketball, high school sports, all things golf, and other sports.
As much as he enjoyed watching and writing about the games, it was getting to know what the coaches and athletes were like as people that most held his attention.
Tom Brady, for instance, used his smarts as much as his talent to win big games. Tiger Woods has done much for himself and society, but he could do so much more. Lamar Odom is an easy man to like, but he's always lacked maturity.
Whether it's national events such as Major League baseball playoffs, the Super Bowl, the NCAA Basketball Tournament and Ryder Cup Golf or regular season matchups between arch rivals, Kenyon tells stories that focus on the people behind the scores.
Join Kenyon as he celebrates his love of writing, athletics, and teamwork in It's about the People, Not Just the Games.

Future Author on the Authors Hour
Posted by Wayne G. Barber & Photos by Wayne G. Barber
Yes !!! I have the book in my hand with a excellent autograph too !
Author Tim White Channel 12 Fox News reporter hosted a fantastic book signing today at Barrington Book Re-Told at the Garden City Shopping Center.
We will schedule a live interview with Tim at a future date to discuss the book from a idea to a final edit.
On Aug. 14, 1975, eight daring thieves ransacked 148 massive safe-deposit boxes at a secret bank used by organized crime, La Cosa Nostra, and its associates in Providence, R.I. The crooks fled with duffle bags crammed full of cash, gold, silver, stamps, coins, jewels and high-end jewelry. The true value of the loot has always been kept secret, partly because it was ill-gotten to begin with, and partly because there was plenty of incentive to keep its true worth out of the limelight. It's one thing for authorities to admit they didn't find a trace of goods worth from $3 million to $4 million, and entirely another when what was at stake was more accurately valued at about $30 million, the equivalent of $120 million today. It was the biggest single payday in the criminal history of the Northeast. Nobody came close, not the infamous James "Whitey" Bulger, not John "The Dapper Don" Gotti, not even the Brinks or Wells Fargo robbers. The heist was bold enough and big enough to rock the underworld to its core, and it left La Cosa Nostra in the region awash in turmoil that still reverberates more than forty years later. Last Good Heist is the inside story of the robbery and its aftermath.

Even in the wilderness, trouble seems to find Karl Bergman. Years after his run-in with a serial killer on the Appalachian Trail, Bergman sets out with his dog, Blazer, on a thru-hike of the Pacific Crest Trail―hoping to return home a better man. But the discovery of a dead body on the outskirts of the Anza-Borrego Desert threatens to embroil Bergman in another violent chain of events with even higher stakes than his previous ordeal. This time his adversary is not just one man as the dead body appears to be linked to a drug cartel using mules to move product from Mexico to Canada. An uneasy alliance with a San Diego narcotics officer makes things more difficult, but when Bergman reconnects with his estranged son Kenny, a sophomore at UCLA, he puts both of them in grave danger that can only be escaped by bringing down the cartel's operation.
Become a puzzle-solving ninja who discovers creative solutions by merging the practical, tactical, logical, physical, energetic, spiritual and emotional sides of yourself. This inward journey quickly identifies workplace challenges and their ideal solutions resulting in focused and positive outcomes. Evolve into the intuitive leader you are meant to be.

The pressure’s really piling up on Greg Heffley. His mom thinks video games are turning his brain to mush, so she wants her son to put down the controller and explore his “creative side.”
As if that’s not scary enough, Halloween’s just around the corner and the frights are coming at Greg from every angle.
When Greg discovers a bag of gummy worms, it sparks an idea. Can he get his mom off his back by making a movie . . . and will he become rich and famous in the process? Or will doubling down on this plan just double Greg’s troubles? #WimpyKid #WimpyKidDoubleDown #JeffKinney
