New Bedford Book Festival

Posted by Wayne G. Barber

New Bedford Book Festival

The Fall New Bedford Book Festival is free and open to the public. It will take place Saturday, Oct. 15 and Sunday, Oct. 16, 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. each day.
Over 40 local and regional authors will be presenting and discussing their books at Groundwork!, New Bedford’s first co-working facility at 1213 Purchase Street, New Bedford, MA.
Come each day or both and spend the afternoon; Destination Soups will be in the kitchen with their signature soups and sandwiches and many of the authors will be reading from their work in a special reading room. A dedicated children’s books area will welcome parents, students and teachers. Author/Publisher Nick LeBlanc of Domesticated Primate and artist Meaggsy Bogues are creating a special story-telling audio/visual installation for the weekend which will run continuously.
And we’re very pleased to host a special guest, Standard-Times BookLovers columnist Lauren Daley for a Question & Answer hour beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 16.
